§45-35A-54.03. Municipal officers; powers; laws, ordinances, and resolutions.

  • The members of the board of commissioners provided for by this part shall be municipal officers only, and shall have, possess, and exercise the municipal powers, legislative, executive, and judicial, now or hereafter conferred upon municipalities and the governing bodies thereof. All laws governing Dothan, and not inconsistent with this part, shall apply to and govern the city after it has become organized under the commission form of government provided for by this part. All laws, ordinances, and resolutions lawfully passed and in force in the city under its former organization not inconsistent with this part shall remain in force until altered or repealed, according to this part. All employees of each such city and all officials except those whose terms of office may be abolished by this part shall continue in office until otherwise provided by the board of commissioners.
